9 Secrets To Super-Charge Your Profits From An Insurance Selling Legend

I am a huge believer in learning, modeling, and associating with highly successful people.  I am not sure who said this but, “show me the books that you read and people you associate with, and I can tell you where you will be in 5 years.”

There is absolute truth in that statement.  I have used this idea throughout my career, which has served me very, very well. With that said, reading about industry legends who’ve come before you and modeling their success is a step in the right direction.

One such successful person you can learn from is Norman Levine.  If you have never heard of him that is okay.  That is the way Norm liked it.  But while his demeanor was humble, his production was most certainly not.

Norm was a regular Top of the Table performer.  He built three separate multi-million dollar agencies from 1959-1997.  At one point in 1975, he produced 3 times the million dollar round table level in only 30 days and then continued to produce at this level throughout most of his career.  That is nothing less than astonishing.

It is insanely successful people like this that I recommend you learn from.  Which is why I think you should pay very close attention to the following 9 success secrets from Norm Levine (taken from the book “The Greatest Insurance Stories Ever Told” by Russell Merk) and apply them to selling insurance.

Success Principle #1: If you are doing what you love and you’re having fun, what other people think is irrelevant.

Success Principle #2: Any time you apply the discipline of long hours and seeing lots of people, you can’t help but succeed.

Success Principle #3: A firm belief in the value of your product gives you the power to sell aggressively.

Success Principle #4: Great success sometimes comes from meager beginnings.

Success Principle #5: Sometimes it pays to buck the system and follow your instincts.

Success Principle #6: Leaving your past and starting over is sometimes the best road to success.

Success Principle #7: A commitment, publicly made, has incredible motivational power.

Success Principle #8: The day you fall in love with what you are doing is the last day you will ever have to work.

Success Principle #9: Selling from the heart means helping others reach their goals, not yours.  Learn to sell from the heart and you will be more successful than you could possibly imagine.

I think you can take something from every one of these success principles.  But just don’t overwhelm yourself with them.  Take them one at a time before moving on to the next one.
